Stabbing Victim Identified

(STILLWATER, OK) – On Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 12:09 a.m., Stillwater Police Dept. (SPD) responded to the area 810 S. Jardot in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon. Officers arrived on scene and found an unresponsive male subject with multiple stab wounds. SPD officers attempted to perform life-saving measures, but the subject was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

The victim has been identified as Justin Springer, 35, of Stillwater.

A person of interest has been identified and the case is still under investigation by SPD Criminal Investigations Division.

Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Collision

On Friday, April 7, 2023, at 2:23 a.m., Stillwater Police Department (SPD) responded to 4th and Monroe in reference to two pedestrians that were struck by a vehicle.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Andre Lawson, 54, was traveling southbound on Monroe towards 4th Avenue. Lawson was driving a 2008 Chevy Impala with his passenger, Todd Shinault, 66, when the two pedestrians were struck while attempting to cross the roadway.

The pedestrians were identified as Kate Douglas, 21, of Stillwater and Jonas Heath, 21, of Broken Arrow. They were transported to Stillwater Medical Center. Heath was treated and released and Douglas was life flighted to OU Medical Center in serious condition. Lawson is cooperating with investigators.
