Please help us welcome UnderSheriff Scottie Mitchell!

I’m a little late in making this introduction, but I’d like to take a moment to introduce our UnderSheriff, Scottie Mitchell. He has been with us since February of this year and has already done a great job. We’re proud to have him as part of our team!

UnderSheriff Mitchell began his law enforcement career in May 2004 and obtained his reserve officer certification in June 2005. He served in patrol before becoming a full-time peace officer. Around 2014, he became Assistant Chief of the Westville Police Department and obtained his K-9 handler certification around that same time.

In December 2016, Mitchell became Chief of the Westville Police Department, where he served until February 2026. Throughout his career, he has completed approximately 2,000 hours of continuing education and earned his CLEET Advanced Certification.

UnderSheriff Mitchell brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication to law enforcement. His years of service and leadership are a valuable asset to our office and the community we serve.

Please join me in welcoming UnderSheriff Scottie Mitchell to the team! We look forward to continuing to serve our community together.
