When one door closes, another opens! On our final day of school last week, Janet Olmstead and Peggy Pugh closed the Claudia Landeen front gate one last time as teachers. We thank them for all the guidance, leadership and kindness they have provided for Mariners and we wish them a wonderful retirement!

Mariners are sailing toward a bright future in high school! This morning, our 8th Grade Class of 2026 completed their Promotion ceremony, bringing their time at Claudia Landeen to a close.

Throughout their time here, these students have inspired their classmates and staff through hard work and compassion toward others. We look forward to seeing what lies ahead in their educational journey!

How much weight can a bridge hold before it crumbles? Mrs. Servin's physical science students put that question to the test by building their own structures out of popsicle sticks and glue, then placing weights on top of their custom-made bridges. Our 8th Graders were surprised how sturdy their bridges were, so they had to bring in dumbbells from Mr. Eaton's class to find the limit of their structures. Several of these tiny walkways could withstand more than 30 pounds before breaking!

4th Graders started their day with a trip to In-N-Out! Mr. Zamora's class got a tour of the restaurant on West March Lane this morning, learning about the In-N-Out chain's significance as California's first drive-thru. Mariners saw the space where employees work every day, and even got to try cutting potatoes into fries!

Officials in law enforcement, information technology, counseling and many more career paths provided hands-on activities and resources for students to learn more about their future jobs.
