ACTION ALERT FOR CA Advocates:

We hope all is well! We appreciate all your support of Jails to Jobs (J2J), a request for state funds to help demonstrate how connecting people to structured job training shortly after arrest can promote economic mobility and safety, two priorities Californians care deeply about.

Earlier week, J2J advocates, including service providers and system-impacted partners, traveled to Sacramento to meet with legislators ahead of upcoming state budget negotiations. We talked about how access to jobs can reduce system involvement and build a stronger economy.

Governor Newsom released his proposed budget, and now the legislature gets to respond with what they think is important to fund. That process begins with budget hearings next week– and we need legislators to hear directly from community members and partners like you.

Please take ONE minute before Tuesday, May 19th to send in public comment in support of Jails To Jobs using the link below:

>> Take Action Here!: https://secure.vera.org/a/jails-to-jobs

Every message helps show the broad community support behind this proposal. If you’re able, we’d also greatly appreciate you sharing the link with your networks to help build additional momentum and visibility!

Thank you so much for continuing to show up for this work.
