๐พ๐ Dine Out + Do Good with Nala! ๐๐พ
Nala was excited to pick up lunch for the FJC at Panda Express to support Guide Dogs of America Tender Loving Canines๐
This one feels especially close to home. Guide Dogs of America Tender Loving Canines is the organization that gifted us our sweet Facility Dog, Nala ๐ถ and we are so grateful for the impact they have made not only in our lives, but in the lives of so many.
Because of Nala, survivors who walk through our doors experience comfort, safety, and connection in some of their hardest moments.
If you or someone you know needs help, the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center is here for you.
โจ Stay tuned, follow along, and share as we highlight more about Nala in the coming weeks and the powerful role Facility Dogs play in the work we do.

At the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center, we are proud to recognize Bethany and Yvette for successfully completing the Advanced Strangulation Prevention Course through the Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention with the Alliance for HOPE International.
This specialized training strengthens our ability to identify one of the most dangerous and often misunderstood forms of domestic violence.
Strangulation is not just assault. It is a lethal warning sign.
๐ด A survivor who has been strangled by an intimate partner is 750% more likely to be killed by that partner.
๐ด 43% of intimate partner homicide victims had been strangled in the year prior.
๐ด 9 out of 10 strangulation incidents are connected to domestic violence.
๐ด Many victims show little to no visible injury, yet suffer life-threatening internal damage.
Strangulation can cause unconsciousness in seconds and death in minutes and even delayed death days or weeks later.
This is why training like this matters. Because recognizing the signs can save lives. Because what may be minimized as โchokingโ is actually one of the strongest predictors of homicide.
๐ The San Joaquin County Family Justice Center provides free, confidential support including safety planning, restraining order assistance, advocacy, counseling, and connection to community resources.

Thank you, Amazon Elk Grove, Amazon Manteca, and NAFE Logistics!ย ๐
Your generous donation of stuffed animals is already making a difference at the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center. ๐๐งธ
For many of the children and adults who walk through our doors, these moments are some of the hardest of their lives. Something as simple as a soft stuffed animal can bring a sense of safety, calm, and connection when itโs needed most. Your support helps us create those moments- moments where a scared child finds a smile, where a survivor feels seen, or where a family experiencing crisis receives a small reminder of hope.
We are deeply grateful for community partners like you. Your kindness reaches far beyond a single donation; it touches lives all year long and embodies the heart of what community care looks like. ๐
