🚑 Launch Your Career in Emergency Medical Services with AMR

Applications are now being accepted for the AMR EMS Academy January 2027 Cohort.

The AMR EMS Academy is a company tuition-paid 16 week training program designed to prepare motivated individuals for a rewarding career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Participants receive hands-on instruction, clinical experience, and the opportunity to begin a meaningful career serving their communities.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
✔ 18 years of age or older
✔ Pass a background check
✔ Ability to successfully pass a drug screening

Program Benefits:
✅ Tuition-paid EMT education
✅ Hands-on skills and clinical training
✅ Instruction from experienced EMS professionals
✅ Career opportunities with AMR upon successful completion

📅 Classes begin January 2027

This week, Nykia, Rena, and Kimberly coordinated an HR Day, setting up a table with snacks and important information for our crews. Events like this provide a valuable opportunity for employees to connect directly with the HR and TA teams, ask questions, gather helpful resources, and build stronger relationships with the people who support our operation behind the scenes. These teams work hard every day to ensure our employees and operation have the support they need, and their efforts are greatly appreciated.

💗 Today is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.💗

AMR - Atlanta, GA honors the countless individuals and families whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

For many of us, this cause is deeply personal. It is a mother, father, sister, daughter, spouse, partner, friend, coworker, or mentor. It is someone we love, someone we have cared for, or someone we miss dearly. Behind every diagnosis is a story of strength, courage, hope, and perseverance.

To those who are currently fighting, to those who have survived, and to those who carry the memory of a loved one lost, we stand with you. Your resilience inspires us, and your journey reminds us of the incredible strength found in the human spirit.

As healthcare professionals and first responders, we witness the power of compassion, support, and community every day. We know that no one should face life's toughest challenges alone. This month, we encourage everyone to take a moment to check in on one another, prioritize their health, and remind those around them that they are loved, valued, and supported.

Today, as we reflect on the 25th anniversary of September 11th, we remember the lives that were lost, the families whose worlds were forever changed, and the survivors who continue to carry the memories of that day.

We also honor the brave first responders who answered the call without hesitation. In a time of fear and uncertainty, they showed extraordinary courage, selflessness, and compassion, reminding us what it truly means to serve others.

As we pause for a moment of silence, let us remember not only the tragedy of that day, but also the strength, resilience, and unity that followed. May we never forget the sacrifices made and the heroes who ran toward danger to help those in need.

AMR - Dekalb Work Anniversary!

We would like to extend our congratulations to Paramedic, Carlie Fernandez and FTO EMT, Denisha Vaughn as they celebrate an important milestone—their 5-year work anniversary with AMR DeKalb County. Over the past five years, both providers have made lasting contributions to our operation, patients, and the continued growth of our team.

Paramedic, Carlie Fernandez began her career with AMR as an EMT and earned her Paramedic license last year. Since then, she has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to professional excellence and mentorship. Carlie dedicates a significant amount of her time to supporting both the EMT-B and Paramedic programs, helping new providers build confidence and develop the skills needed to succeed in the field. Her willingness to share knowledge and assist others has had a positive impact on countless team members throughout DeKalb County. Thank you, Carlie, for everything you do to help strengthen the next generation of EMS professionals.

FTO EMT, Denisha Vaughn also started her journey with the AMR as an EMT and has since advanced into the role of Field Training Officer. In this position, she consistently excels by providing guidance, encouragement, and valuable resources to new EMT trainees as they begin their careers. Denisha's dedication to training and developing others has played a key role in preparing providers for success in the field. She is currently enrolled in our Paramedic program and is looking forward to expanding her ability to serve the community once she completes her training and becomes a Paramedic.

We are grateful for the dedication, professionalism, and hard work that both Carlie and Denisha have demonstrated over the past five years. Thank you for your commitment to our patients, your fellow team members, and the DeKalb County community.

Congratulations on this milestone anniversary, and we look forward to seeing all that you will continue to accomplish in the years ahead!

🎉 Please join us in congratulating Tanya Shade on her well-deserved promotion to Logistics Associate!🎉

Tanya's journey into EMS began while she was attending dental assisting school. After spending five years as a dental assistant, she realized she wanted a different path that would allow her to make a greater impact in the lives of others. Determined to follow her passion, she returned to school to become an EMT.

From that moment on, she knew she had found her calling. There was the the camaraderie, sisterhood, brotherhood, and sense of family, and she knew that's what she wanted to be a part of it.

Tanya joined AMR in 2013 and has remained dedicated to serving her community and supporting those around her. Her passion for helping others has guided every step of her career.

"I pray every day that if I can make a difference in just one person's life, then I've done what I was called to do, and every step of this journey is worth it."

Now, Tanya is embarking on an exciting new chapter as a Logistics Associate, bringing her dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence into a new role.

One quote that has inspired her throughout her journey is:

"When a tree falls, everyone hears the sound. When a tree grows, no one hears it. So, keep growing quietly. Don't wait for the applause. The noise isn't the proof; the roots are."

Her message to others:

Outside of my work, the most important thing in my life is my family and kids.
