Meet Our Resident of the Month, Wayne Johnson! 🎉
Wayne grew up in Ankeny with two older sisters and a twin brother. After graduating from Ankeny High School in 1968, he attended Grand View College, earning a degree in Speech and Theater. He later studied portrait photography at Hawkeye Community College, which led to a lifelong career behind the camera.
Wayne began his photography career in Des Moines before moving to Harlan, where he worked at Noble Photography and met his wife, Helen. ❤️ The two married in 1978, and Wayne later opened his own studio, Memory Lane Photography, which he operated for 23 years. He eventually merged with Lifetouch and continued his career until retiring in 2016.
Wayne and Helen have two children, a son and a daughter, and a dog named Batman!
Wayne joined the Bethany community in 2025, and we are so happy to have him with us.
His favorite quote sums up his career perfectly:
“Choose a job you enjoy doing, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
Please join us in congratulating Wayne on being our Resident of the Month!
