Last night, we had the honor and privilege of recognizing our senior volleyball and golf athletes.
Aurora Favero is from Italy and is the daughter of the late Dario Favero and Annalisa Codoro. Joe and Lena Menning are her host parents. She plays volleyball and runs cross-country. This is her first year playing volleyball. When she returns to Italy, she will finish high school and then attend a university. Her special guest is Cindy Marriott, her cross-country coach.
Gabby Sidebottom is the daughter of Gregg and Sharon Sidebottom. She plays volleyball, basketball, cross-country, and soccer, and she is involved in NHS, A+, FCA, and FCCLA. She has played volleyball for four years. After high school, she plans to attend State Fair Community College to study orthodontics. Her special guest is Raven Eckhoff, the high school counselor.
Piper Thilmont, the daughter of Amie Slinger, is in her first year of playing golf. She plays softball, golf, and track and is in FCCLA. She plans to join the Marines and become a military police officer. Her special guest is Samantha Vansel, the 5th- and 6th-grade intervention teacher.
Kennedy Worthley is the daughter of Jason and Aimee Worthley. She has played volleyball for four years. She is active in volleyball, soccer, basketball as a manager, FCCLA, and NHS. She plans to attend State Fair Community College and earn a degree in ultrasound technology. Her special guest is Sharon Sidebottom, a first-grade teacher.
We know parents have played an important role in these athletes’ lives, but we also want to recognize the love, support, and encouragement their grandparents have provided along the way. At this time, would our seniors' grandparents please stand? Thank you for all you have done to support these athletes and help them reach this special moment!
