Stow Parks & Recreation is currently making exciting improvements at three neighborhood parks, adding more opportunities for residents to get active and enjoy outdoor recreation!

Oregon Trail Park – 2913 Graham Rd.: The temporary pickleball area off of Graham Rd. will be converted into a half-court basketball court, along with two permanent pickleball courts. Project to be complete by the end of October 2026.

Northport Neighborhood Park – 3780 N. Santom: A fenced combination half-court basketball and pickleball court (bring own net). Final surfacing will be done in the Spring.

Sherwood Acres Neighborhood Park – 4344 Forest Hill Rd.: A fenced combination half-court basketball and pickleball court (bring own net). Final surfacing will be done in the Spring.

These improvements will provide more ways for residents of all ages to get outside, play and enjoy Stow’s parks!

What a PERFECT night for stargazing! Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for Campground Cosmos Night at Silver Springs Park as we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Silver Springs Campground!

A special shout-out to our two amazing hobby astronomers for sharing their knowledge, setting up their telescopes, and helping us explore the wonders of the night sky. And thank you to the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library for bringing astronomy books and a fun craft!

We loved seeing everyone come together to look up and enjoy a beautiful evening under the stars.

It was a SPOOKTACULAR beautiful fall evening for our annual Haunted Hayride at Silver Springs Park! We hope everyone had a frightfully fun time!

Our campers were amazing as always, transforming their sites into creative and spooky scenes to entertain our registrants along the trail. Your enthusiasm is what makes this event so special year after year!

A HUGE thank-you to all of our campers, sponsors, maintenance and street department and volunteers who helped make this event a success. We couldn’t do it without you!

Get ready to look up! Our Campground Cosmos Night – Astronomy Watch Party is happening Tues., October 20, and the forecast is looking promising for a night of stargazing!

We’ll have two amazing amateur astronomers bringing their BIG telescopes to help us explore the wonders of the night sky. Here’s a peek at what you might see:

🪐 Saturn – A longtime favorite that’s always worth a look!
⭐ Famous Stars – Spot Altair, Vega, Arcturus and Capella.
🌌 Andromeda Galaxy – Get a glimpse of a galaxy beyond our own!
🚀 Space Junk?! – We might even catch NORAD 23343, a massive piece of old Soviet rocket debris orbiting Earth. It’s predicted to make a fiery return to Earth around 2052, so we might as well check it out while it’s still up there!

We hope to see you Tuesday night at Silver Springs Park - 5238 Young Rd., near the baseball fields starting at 6:15 PM. FREE EVENT - no registration

🔭 Bring your binoculars, telescopes, chairs or blankets and get ready for some stellar fun! Dress warmly, too—it could be a chilly night under the stars!

This special event is part of our 50th Anniversary celebration of Silver Springs Campgrounds!

Registration Deadlines:

- Middle School (Grades 7–8): November 16
- High School (Grades 9–12): November 10
- Elementary League (Grades 2–6): Registration has ended, but we’re still looking for a few more 4th & 6th grade boys to complete the league! Call the Parks Office at 330-689-5100 this week to sign up!
