Strathmere Fishing and Environmental Club - SFEC Fishing and Environmental club Welcome to the Strathmere Fishing and Environmental Club. The Club is made up of terrific men and women.

We are an organization of approximately 180 people with a common interest in fishing, boating, the artificial reef program and education concerning environmental issues such as clean water and beaches and fish conservation. Based in South Jersey, SFEC sponsors many social events including several fishing tournaments, a boat parade, barbecues, and summer and winter socials. We also sponsor several shore-related events for children, and are involved in local community service. Friendships and camaraderie are what make SFEC special.

Please join us for the Strathmere Living Shoreline Groundbreaking Ceremony!

Saturday, October 24 at 1:00 PM
Strathmere Bayview Ave Boat Ramp

We are excited to announce that project contracts have been awarded and construction will begin in the near future. This important environmental initiative will help protect and enhance our local wetlands, create additional habitat for fish and wildlife, and improve coastal resiliency. Healthy wetlands can absorb approximately one million gallons of floodwater per acre during coastal storm events, helping safeguard our community and natural resources.

We are honored to welcome the following special guests:

Congressman Jeff Van Drew
Upper Township Mayor Curtis T. Corson, Jr.
Upper Township Administrator James Van Zlike
William "Billy" Fisher, Commander, New Jersey State Police Woodbine Barracks
Douglas Gaffney, U.S. Ports and Coastal Resilience Practice Lead, AtkinsRéalis
Junetta Dix, ACT Engineers
Chief Riordan, Strathmere Volunteer Fire Company
The event will feature a brief 30-minute program led by our hosts:

Wayne Thomas, SFEC President
Randy Roash, SFEC Environmental Co-Chair
Rose Rhine, SFEC Environmental Co-Chair
Alice March, SFEC Environmental Committee Program Advisor

Following the remarks, guests will participate in a symbolic shovel soil toss and blue ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially mark the beginning of this transformative project.

We hope you will join us as we celebrate a significant milestone in protecting and preserving Strathmere's treasured coastal environment for future generations.
