Martin County Democrats Fighting to ensure that everyone has a chance to live the American Dream. We Democrats are the oldest political party in America and the youngest in spirit.

We will remain so, because we enjoy the challenge of government. Time and again, for almost two centuries, the Democratic Party has made government work -- to build and defend a nation, to encourage commerce, to educate our children, to promote equal opportunity, to advance science and industry, to support the arts and humanities, to restore the land, to develop and conserve our human and natural resources, to preserve and enhance our built environment, to relieve poverty, to explore space. We have reached difficult and vital goals. We recognize that the capacity of government is limited but we regard democratic government as a force for good and a source of hope. At the heart of our party lies a fundamental conviction, that Americans must not only be free, but they must live in a fair society. We believe it is the responsibility of government to help us achieve this fair society. a society where the elderly and the disabled can lead lives of dignity and where Social Security remains an unshakable commitment;
a society where all people can find jobs in a growing full-employment economy;
a society where all workers are guaranteed without question the legal right to join unions of their own choosing and to bargain collectively for decent wages and conditions of employment;
a society where taxes are clearly based on ability to pay;
a society where the equal rights of women are guaranteed in the Constitution;
a society where the civil rights of minorities are fully secured and where no one is denied the opportunity for a better life;
a society where both public and private discrimination based upon race, s*x, age, color, creed, national origin, religion, ethnic identity, s*xual orientation, economic status, philosophical persuasion or physical disability are condemned and where our government moves aggressively to end such discrimination through lawful means;
a society where we recognize that the strengthening of the family and the protection of children are essential to the health of the nation;
a society where a sound education, proper nutrition, quality medical care, affordable housing, safe streets and a healthy environment are possible for every citizen;
a society where the livelihoods of our family farmers are as stable as the values they instill in the American character;
a society where a strong national defense is a common effort, where promoting human rights is a basic value of our foreign policy, and where we ensure that future by ending the nuclear arms race. This is our purpose and our promise.

Big BS Bill, explained

10/11/2026

🚨 BREAKING: YES, TRUMP REALLY SAID THIS TONIGHT, and the furious backlash was IMMEDIATE. This is not satire. It’s not AI. It’s not a doctored quote or something “taken out of context.” Speaking at his rally in Grand Island, Nebraska tonight, Donald Trump actually said about Iran: "They can take out a city. Let ’em take out Los Angeles. Let ’em take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay.” And incredibly, people in the crowd CHEERED.

Video of the moment exists, and multiple news organizations have now reported and verified the remarks.

The backlash was immediate — and furious. California Governor Gavin Newsom responded that Trump was saying foreign enemies should “take out” two American cities, calling him “deranged and dangerous.”

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria fired back: “San Diego is not collateral damage. We are not expendable. And we are never a ‘small price to pay.’”

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called Trump’s comments “dangerous,” adding: “The role of a president is to protect the country, not to actively threaten it and encourage attacks on American lives.”

Senator Alex Padilla accused Trump of “inviting an attack on U.S. soil” and asked: “What kind of Commander in Chief does that?”

Rep. Sara Jacobs, whose district includes parts of San Diego, declared that her constituents — including active-duty service members, veterans and their families — “are not acceptable collateral damage.”

Journalist Jim Acosta was even more blunt: “WTF. This is not normal.”

Wow. These are the ACTUAL words spoken by the sitting President of the United States about two American cities containing millions of Americans. Let that sink in.

Please like and share to spread Trump's shame!

The Palm Beach Post Editorial Board recommends voters pick Democrat James Martin for Congress

Palm Beach Post

Oct. 9, 2026, 11:24 a.m. ET

The Palm Beach Post Editorial Board is endorsing candidates in a number of races in the Nov. 3 elections. The Board has reached out to all candidates who qualified and will publish endorsements on congressional, state, Palm Beach County Commission, school board and Port of Palm Beach races.

The following is the Post's endorsements for Florida's U.S. 21st congressional district.

Whatever your choice, it's important to make your voice heard by early voting, voting by mail or by going to the polls on Nov. 3. For more details on different ways to vote, to confirm if you're registered, to know your voting precinct and/or to follow your vote, go to votepalmbeach.gov

James Martin for US House 21

Voters in Florida's 21st Congressional District have an opportunity to make a change. James Martin, the Democratic candidate seeking to oust long-term incumbent Republican Brian Mast, should be given an opportunity to do just that. The Post urges voters to pick Martin in the November elections.

If elected, Martin will bring a level of experience and change that will benefit this northern PalmBeach County-Treasure Coast district, particularly if the leadership and the majority of the next Congress, as many have already predicted, shifts next month from Republican to Democratic control.

Martin, a 33-year-old Hobe Sound resident, is a credible candidate. Having graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the U.S. Naval War College, his military service led to the White House, where he served as chief of staff for National Security Affairs and executive secretary of the Office of the Vice President under both Presidents Biden and Trump.

His priorities includes the "clean water crisis" facing the Treasure Coast's St. Lucie estuary and the Florida Everglades, as well as addressing the rising cost of living that is making life here ever more difficult. If elected, he would work to undo inflationary tariffs in and work to solve the looming healthcare crisis caused by the Republican's Big Beautiful Bill.

Mast, the incumbent, again chose not to participate in The Palm Beach Post's endorsement process. That's unfortunate because it robs voters of his views on important issues. No matter. Voters have a viable choice, and the Post believes they have that opportunity in Democrat James Martin.
