We are thrilled to welcome Santat: Author/Illustrator to the Studio City Branch Library on Saturday, June 13 at 3 p.m.! Dan Santat is a New York Times-bestselling creator behind 120+ books for children and teens. His accolades include the Caldecott Medal (2015) and the National Book Award for Young People's Literature (2023). He will be sharing his new books, Don't Trust Fish and A Fishboy Named...Sashimi. Save the date to meet Dan Santat in person!

A friendly reminder the Library will be closed Tuesday, May 19, 2026 for Staff Development Day. We will reopen on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at our regular hours.

Experience marine life up-close and personal with live tidepool animals and specimens on Monday, May 18 at 3:30 p.m.! Kids will learn about creatures like sea stars, sea urchins, hermit crabs, and more. This program is limited to 40 attendees, first come, first served. Arrive early for a spot.

Join us May 14 at 4 PM to learn how to create your own comics in this workshop led by author/illustrator team Ben Crane and Andy Alves! This program is intended for kids and teens, and all materials will be provided.

Ben Crane and Andy Alves are the creators of the children's graphic novel series Cosmic Cadets.

From staged readings of plays to comic creation and even marine life, we've got a program for everyone this month.

Join us May 2, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM for Free Comic Book Day! Come get free comics, and mix and mingle with other comic book lovers. Meet and greet with local comic creators Henry Barajas, Corinna Bechko, and more. This event is for all-ages, free comic books while supplies last.
