We are pleased to announce some news that we have been keeping "close to the vest" for awhile....

K9 Vlasko is featured in the 2024 Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog calendar! See the link below.. You might recognize some of the other eleven teams.

(Ofc Hemingway is there too; he's the taller one.)

We had the opportunity to join another police K9 at this veterinary medical training day. K9 Vlasko was able to be the subject for some of the hands-on demonstrations.
We appreciate all the people who have worked through every step of Nero's Law from its inception to its continued implementation across the state. Hopefully we will never need to utilize these skills, but it makes us feel better knowing that they are available and practiced. I've had my own need for ambulance rides during the course of my duties and it is reassuring to know that our K9 partners will have the same resource when/if needed.

Boston’s Run to Remember is a tribute to fallen law enforcement officers, first responders and military. It has been held during the Memorial Day weekend.
Memorial Day is specifically for remembrance of our military members who paid the highest price in the interests of preserving the freedoms we all have the privilege to enjoy. Though Police and Fire have their own days for remembrance, a holiday weekend did seem to allow for quite the amount of participation for this event. I do not know the final numbers but I did see bib numbers over 8000!
My wife and I joined the event to represent Team Sturbridge PD in the 5-Mile run. I took part in their “Uniform Tribute”. My thoughts were with our military members whose sacrifice does not allow them the option to join us for all that we have available to us, day to day, because of them. Thank you.

Congratulations on your retirement, K9 Sampson!
You and Sgt. Gliniecki are a great team!
Ware Police Department

The Ware Police Department is announcing the retirement of K9 Sampson effective March 7, 2023. K9 Sampson started with the department in September 2015 and has served for over 7 years. Over those 7 years, K9 Sampson has assisted officers in every aspect he was trained in, from locating people, narcotics, and evidence. K9 Sampson over the years has become a large part of our department and a staple within the community.
K9 programs like ours are run with generous donations provided by the community. We would like to take this time to thank everyone who has supported our program over these last seven years because without your support K9 Sampson’s success would not be possible. A special thanks to Jan Garabedian for organizing our community fundraisers. We want to recognize some of the organizations that have contributed over the years such as Vested Interest in K9s https://www.vik9s.org/ , and MA Vest a Dog https://mavestadog.org/ for providing vital equipment to our program. Also, Hubbardston Veterinary Clinic https://hubbardstonvetclinic.com/ for providing the absolute best veterinary care to Sampson throughout the years.
The department wishes K9 Sampson a happy and healthy retirement with his family!

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of K9 Bandit after a battle with cancer. K9 Bandit has served with the Webster Police Department Massachusetts since 2015. His partner, Officer Suss, is an experienced and dedicated handler who has devoted many years to the Webster Police K9 Unit.
Our thoughts are with Officer Suss and the WPD family.

Rest in Peace, K9 Bandit.
