CTH OO – CTH S to Shiloh Road

The Door County Highway Department will be resurfacing CTH 00, from CTH S to Shiloh Road. The project will consist of pulverizing the existing asphalt, sawing and removal of driveways and intersections, grading and compaction, paving 4” of hot mix asphalt in 2 lifts, shouldering, and centerline markings.

Pulverizing of the existing asphalt, driveway excavation, grading, and compaction is scheduled to begin the week of October 19, 2026. The paving of two lifts of asphalt will take place the week of October 26, 2026. The road will then be shouldered after a short cure period, and centerline striped. The expected completion date, without the centerline striping, is November 6, 2026.

There will be an adhesive applied between the two lifts of asphalt. We ask that you follow all posted signage and avoid driving on the oiled surface. Every effort will be made to keep access open to traffic as much as possible throughout the construction project. Traffic will be controlled by a flagging operation during construction. Please be advised to use caution when traveling around road construction equipment and crews and obey all signage.

As with any road construction project, the work and construction schedule is controlled by favorable weather. We apologize for any inconvenience this project may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation while this work is being completed.

CTH H – Stone Road to State 57

The Door County Highway Department has begun a resurfacing project on CTH H, from Stone Road to State Highway 57. The project will consist of pulverizing the existing asphalt, sawing and removal of driveways and intersections, grading and compaction, paving 4” of hot mix asphalt in 2 lifts, shouldering, and centerline markings.

Pulverizing of the existing asphalt and intersection and driveway excavation began the week of September 21, 2026. Grading and compaction will begin the week of September 28, 2026. The paving of two lifts of asphalt will begin the week of October 5, 2026. The paving will take approximately two weeks to complete. The road will then be shouldered after a short cure period, and centerline striped. The expected completion date, without the centerline striping, is October 23, 2026.

CTH DK – Cemetery Road to Junction Road

The Door County Highway Department will begin a road reconstruction project on County Road DK, from Cemetery Road to Junction Road. The work will consist of cutting of driveways and intersections, pulverizing existing asphalt, grading and compaction, paving, shouldering, and centerline striping.

The cutting of driveways, intersections, and the pulverizing will take place the week of August 17, 2026. The roadway will then be graded and compacted. Paving is anticipated to start the week of August 24, 2026 and will take 2 -3 days. After a short cure period the road will then be shouldered, and stripped.

The road will be open to traffic at all times. Paving operations may require lane closures, or temporary road closures, at which time flagmen will be used to control traffic. An oil adhesive will be applied between the two lifts of asphalt so we ask that you adhere to flagman and avoid driving on the oil surface.

The expected completion date, without the centerline striping, is September 10, 2026. As with any road construction project, the work is controlled by favorable weather. CTH E – Elm Point Road to Logerquist Road

The Door County Highway Department will begin a road reconstruction project on CTH E from Elm Point Road to Logerquist Road. The project will consist of cutting driveways and intersections, wedging and paving 2 ½” of compacted asphalt in two lifts over the existing surface, shouldering, and centerline stripping.

The saw cutting of driveways and intersections will take place the week of July 13th with paving scheduled begin later that week or during the week of July 20th. Paving will take three to four days to complete and is dependent on favorable weather. After a short cure period the road will then be reshouldered and centerline stripped.

Every effort will be made to keep access open to traffic at all times. Paving operations may require lane closures or temporary road closures. Flagmen will be used to control traffic if this is necessary. An oil adhesive will be applied between the two lifts of asphalt so we ask that you adhere to flagman and do not drive on the oiled surface.

The expected completion date, without the centerline striping, is August 13, 2026. As with any road construction project, the work is controlled by favorable weather. The Door County Highway Department will begin a road reconstruction project on CTH T, from State Highway 42/57 to the Lily Bay Boat Launch. The project will consist of cutting of driveways and intersections, pulverizing existing asphalt, grading and compaction, paving, shouldering, and centerline striping.

The saw cutting of driveways and intersections, along with pulverizing will take place the week of June 1, 2026. Grading and compaction will follow. Paving is scheduled to start the week of June 15, 2026 and will take about two weeks. After a short cure period the road will then be shouldered and centerline stripped.

Every effort will be made to keep access open to traffic as much as possible throughout the construction project. Paving operations may require lane closures, flagmen will be used to control traffic. An oil adhesive will be applied between the two lifts of asphalt so we ask you adhere to flagman and do not driving on the oil surface.

The expected completion date, without the centerline striping, is July 9, 2026. As with any road construction project, the work is controlled by favorable weather. The Door County Highway Department has received notice that WisDOT will be completing maintenance on the stop lights on STH 42/57 in Sturgeon Bay next week. North bound and south bound traffic will each be reduced one lane of traffic in these areas on the following dates:

Tuesday, April 28th – Maintenance to the stop lights on STH 42/57 at Duluth Avenue and at Ashland Avenue will take place from 8 am – 4 pm
Wednesday, April 29th – Maintenance to the stop lights on STH 42/57 at Neenah Avenue and at the Mid Junction by E Jorns Lane will take place from 8 am – 4 pm

The Door County Highway Department has received notice that WisDOT will be completing annual spring bridge maintenance causing bridge closures in Sturgeon Bay throughout the upcoming weeks.

Monday, April 27th - Bayview Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic 7 am – 4 pm
Tuesday and Wednesday, April 28th and 29th – Maple-Oregon Street Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic 7 am – 4 pm
Thursday, April 30th – Bayview Bridge work will continue and will be open to traffic, but a flagging operation will be in place 7 am – 4 pm stopping traffic at times

Monday, May 4th – Michigan Street Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic 7 am – 4 pm
