Every student has the right to a quality education and the responsibility to achieve it. All students have the potential to be productive members of society. The needs of students will be our first priority. Diversity among people is to be valued. Students are our greatest resource. Schools must provide a safe environment for teaching and learning. Schools must have high expectations for students and staff. Learning is enhanced by a positive and supportive environment that fosters creativity, self-confidence and success. 🍎 HAPPY NATIONAL PRINCIPALS MONTH! 🍎🌾

Today, we’re celebrating Shelly Mikkelson, Principal of Whitewood Elementary and our four rural schools: Central Meade County, Elm Springs, Opal, and Hereford Elementary!

Before joining Meade, she taught in the Belle Fourche School District for over 20 years! That’s a lot of lessons, leadership, and probably a few extra cups of coffee! ☕
