Happy Friday!
I found another Airlie's Red Flesh heirloom apple yesterday. A LOT of apples have multiple name or synonyms. This apple also goes my Mountain Rose and Hidden Rose. We're trying to clean up our variety master list to eliminate the duplicates while allowing for searches on synonyms.

Happy Thursday!
I luckly found a very large, rogue Opalescent that the Sunken Paddle Ciderworks LLC boys missed. Opalescent is a chance seedling found in a Michigan orchard in the 1870s. The flesh is yellowish and crisp with sweet/slight tart flavor. It has hints of berry and honey too.

Happy Wednesday!
They are finally getting ripe! Airlie's Red Flesh (aka Mountain Rose and Hidden Rose) was discovered in Airlie, Oregon in 1960. This is a late ripening eating apple. The flesh is pink, very crisp, and juicy with a sweet, berry like flavor.

Jake and I spent the day brushing the future road to the woods at the south end of the Little Suamico orchard. We make firewood and deer hunt in the woods at the south end of the Little Suamico orchard. These pictures don't do justice to how hard we worked.😂
