Illinois Fire Service Institute ended today with (4) of our members attending 20-hours of “HOT” Hands on Training in Champaign, Illinois.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Western Lee County in north central Illinois...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 618 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Sterling,
moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Amboy around 640 PM CDT.
Woodhaven Lakes around 645 PM CDT.

Newest update within the past hour has pushed the severe weather to the south. We are still in the slight risk so keep an eye on the weather the rest of the day we still have a 15% chance for wind and hail event but our tornado risk is down to 2%.

Tornado WARNING to the SW of our area heading NE. Please keep a close eye on this storm over the next hour or so. If you are in the Warning area please take cover now.

As we wait for the next update from the US National Weather Service Chicago Illinois we are currently in a Tornado Watch until 9pm, Flood watch until 11pm. We are in the 15% tornado risk. stay tuned to your local new outlet for weather updates.

Update **** The warning was allowed to expire but keep an eye on this incoming storms for the possibility of heavy rain.****

Just an early heads up. The NWS issued a Tornado warning for a law enforcement confirmed tornado to our South and West heading our general direction. Please be weather aware with this line of storms slowly moving into our area.
