As many of you know, parts of Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma are dealing with significant wildfires this week. We had a small fire break out a few miles away from the North yard yesterday. It was quickly under control and completely put out within an hour or two.

Oftentimes, fires become a community project, with not only our Satanta-Dudley Township Fire Department responding, but volunteer fire teams from other communities, crop dusters spraying water if the wind allows, and farmers and feedlot crews with tractors and blades working together to stop the fire.

We were very lucky yesterday (aided by a quick response by our local volunteers and our own Cattle Empire team). Many others haven't been. I will try to share a few resources soon of how we can all help those who have lost so much in these fires.
