This is what a fall evening at Smith Creek Village looks like.

Trails done for the day. Boots by the door. A fire going in the cabin while the forest outside goes dark early now that fall has settled in.

This is the season this place was built for.

Ten waterfalls. One trail. Now in full color.

The Trail of Ten Falls turns into something else entirely once the vine maples go gold and the moss deepens to that impossible green. Every one of the ten falls looks different in October light.

Fall crowds are lighter than summer, which means more of the park feels like yours.

Some places remember every fall visitor a little differently, and this is what it looks like from ours. Crisp mornings, changing leaves, the kind of trip that sticks with you long after the season ends. If you have got a video of your own version of this story, we want to see it. Share your favorite Adventures Unbound memory on video for a chance to win a 2 night return stay plus a $150 gas card to get you back here.

Close your eyes. This is what Silver Falls sounds like.

Water falling somewhere close. Birds moving through branches overhead. Your own footsteps on packed dirt.

Wind through the canopy. Leaves rustling underfoot. A forest that doesn't need a soundtrack.

Come hear it in person.

Some trails you walk. This one, you walk behind.

The path ducks in right behind the falls, close enough to feel the mist on your face and hear the roar change pitch around you. Everyone stops for the same reason. It's the kind of view a phone can't quite capture, so you take the photo anyway.

This is the moment behind South Falls. Come stand in it yourself.

Did you know this about the Trail of Ten Falls?

It's 7.2 miles and passes ten waterfalls, more than almost any other trail in the country.

You can walk behind South Falls. Not next to it. Behind it.

Cell service is spotty once you're in, so download your map first.

Early mornings on weekends mean smaller crowds and better light.

Save this before your next visit.

Fall arrives at Silver Falls in layers. Golden leaves drifting past the canyon rim, the smell of woodsmoke curling out of the South Falls Cafe, a fire crackling while the rain settles in outside. This is the season for throwing your arms out on the Trail of Ten Falls and meaning it, for warming up at Smith Creek Village with a journal and a pumpkin on the table, for slowing down in a way summer never quite allows. There is a lot happening at Silver Falls this fall, from cabin specials to a Thanksgiving dinner in the heart of the park.

Most waterfalls, you look at. This one, you walk through.

South Falls drops 177 feet, and the trail takes you directly behind the curtain of water. Mist on your face, sound all around you, a view you cannot get anywhere else.

This is the moment people come back for.

Cooler air. Changing leaves. A trip that stuck with you long after the leaves fell somewhere else entirely. This fall we want to see the story behind it, not just a photo but the actual footage, the moment you almost didn't film because you were too busy living it. Share your favorite Silver Falls memory on video for a chance to win a 2 night return stay plus a $150 gas card to get you there.

Summer is letting go a little more each day.

Late September brings the first soft rain of the season. Not a downpour. Just enough to darken the bark and bring out the smell of the forest.

The falls do not need sunshine to look their best.

Mornings like this are quiet, cool, and made for slow walks.
