The power of community and teamwork is in effect tonight in Sugarcreek, Ohio.

The Benefit Auction of Legacy Christian School is simply a fun and entertaining night for the school and the community. A delish meal of BBQ Chicken Quarters and juicy Burgers are on the menu. Plus, Chili, Amish-style Noodles, topped with Pie and Ice Cream. Ms. Ruth from the kitchen is prepared to serve 1,200 guests.

Myron Miller from Kaufman Realty and Auctions is the lead chant tonight (and a pleasure to hear). Delightful to see his 11-year-old son helping with bid calling front and center.

Friday’s laundry wafting in the breeze. Sheep grazing in the barnyard. A balmy 62-degrees in Amish Country.

Have you seen this impressive arch at the Dutch Valley campus just outside of Sugarcreek, home of Dutch Valley Restaurant and Bakery, Carlisle Inn Sugarcreek, Dutch Valley Gifts, and just down the road from Weaver's Furniture of Sugarcreek?

The frost has kissed the mum blooms a bit but still delightful to see. An astounding 150 mums make up the arch! Our friends at Copperleaf Group Ltd have done a knockout of creating this floral artwork.

Colorful pumpkins and gourds are still available in these parts. And the cute bakery shed was just restocked by Ms. Katie, the baker. While the flower gardens are being put to bed.

Olde Pump Street Flower Garden located just south of Walnut Creek Cheese & Market is easily accessible from State Route 39.

Hay loading yesterday. Corn husking today.

Stopped in to visit with the Swartzentruber Amish farmer who was loading hay yesterday. Today, he and his kiddos were husking corn with their Belgians, Bonnie and Debbie

Without touching the lines he’d talk to Bonnie to proceed and then told her to stop. Proceed. Stop. Proceed. Hand husking two rows of corn at a time.

When you visit downtown Mt. Hope I recommend treating yourself to a delightful frozen yogurt cone from Mt Hope Country Health Store. Favorite! 😋 My sweet Mama introduced our family to it. Now when I travel through Mt. Hope I like to get a lick-lick cone in her honor.

Today’s flavor is French Vanilla and Pink Cotton Candy. If you’re in town Wednesday for market day at Mt Hope Auction, or on Thursday, you can enjoy Black Raspberry. Friday and Saturday the second flavor—in addition to French Vanilla—is Chocolate.

The frozen yogurt treats are located neighbors to Keim Mt. Hope, Mt. Hope Harness and Shoe, Mrs Yoders Kitchen, The Red Mug Coffee Company, and Sleep Inn & Suites Mt Hope.

Fascinating to see this Swartzentruber Amish family picking up late season hay along Kidron Road today. Note the sweet little girl walking back to pick up a clump of hay.

The leaves are still colorful. The weather is gorgeous. And lunch is served, with the line reaching into the balmy 67 degrees, in downtown Berlin, Ohio.

Boyd & Wurthmann Restaurant has been an anchor between the two main lights in downtown Berlin, Ohio for nearly 90 years retaining lots of quaint diner effects alongside Amish Country cooking.

They still hold true to their tag: “Where the Locals Eat,” and that’s a good sign for locals and visitors alike.

The cuckoo struck 1 in downtown Sugarcreek at the massive Cuckoo Clock. Stop by and see the oompah band and the dancing couple every half hour from 9am to 9pm, April through November (weather permitting).

Only a few steps from The Gospel Shop and Bags Sports Pub.

Our own Sugarcreek Cuckoo Clock has appeared on the front cover of the Guinness World Records for holding the record of the 'largest in the world'.

While that title now goes to a cuckoo clock in the Black Forest of Germany, our clock is still massive, entertaining, and worth a visit.
