The good news? Small changes in your everyday food choices can make a difference. MCHD's article explains the benefits of healthy fats, where to find them, and simple ways to include them in your meals.

Behind every breast cancer survivor is a personal story of courage, perseverance, and hope.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we recognize the millions of people living with or beyond a breast cancer diagnosis, along with the families, friends, and healthcare professionals who support them. Their stories remind us why breast cancer awareness, recommended screenings, advances in treatment, and continued support matter.

This October, let's celebrate survivors, remember those we've lost, and encourage one another to take breast health seriously.

Carbon monoxide is often called the "silent killer" because you can't see it, smell it, or taste it. This dangerous gas can build up inside a home when fuel-burning appliances or equipment malfunction or are used improperly. Exposure can cause serious illness and even death.

As colder weather approaches, check your carbon monoxide detectors, have your fuel-burning heating equipment inspected, and review the safety tips in this graphic.

If your carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone outside into fresh air immediately and call 911. A few simple precautions can help protect your family!

When severe weather strikes, knowing what to do can make all the difference. Tornadoes and dangerous storms can develop quickly, leaving little time to decide where to go or how to protect your family.

Take time now to identify a safe place to shelter, prepare emergency supplies, and make sure everyone in your household knows the plan. Being prepared before a warning is issued can help save lives.
