If your waking up now thinking its 8am you need to do two things! First make sure your clocks are turned back an hour and second change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

On October 6th shortly before 9pm your Liberty Township Fire Department was dispatched to a combine experiencing a thermal event in the area of Ridgeton Rd. And Kafer Rd. Engine 263, Brush 264 and Tanker 262 responded along with several additional volunteers. Luckily the fire was extinguished before it could become catastrophic. Crews remained on scene to ensure no hot spots remained.

Today starts the State of Ohio's ban on ALL open burning between 6am and 6pm. Everyone should use caution when burning outside of these hours as well, especially if it is extremely dry!!

It is hard to believe that it has been 25 years since the events of 9/11/01 changed the lives of an entire generation. Today, there are firefighters all around this country who had not even been born when 343 members of the FDNY, 23 members of the NYPD, and 37 Port Authority police officers marched into the Twin Towers to try to save lives, but ended up losing their own. Never forget that day and teach the youth of today why 9/11 will always be a somber day. 🇺🇸🚒

Just like that it looks like nothing ever happened at the Liberty Township Fire Station. What takes four to five days to set up comes down in a matter of hours and is packed away for another year.

We would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who came out and supported us over the last two days. If it was not for you we could not do what we do.

We would also like to Thank all of the volunteers who came and helped, if you served, set up tents, cooked, participated in the car show or helped with the cleanup this morning we appreciate everything you did!

Finally, and most importantly, we would like to Thank Tonya Geiger. Tonya dedicates more hours than we could begin to imagine to place orders and prepare almost all of the food, organize the army of volunteers who make it all happen and without her we could not hold this event every year!

Thank You again everyone for making this happen and we will see you again in 2027!
