Summerfield’s Getting a Glow-Up!

As the days get shorter, you may notice something new around town: streetlights are being installed!

The first light went live a few days ago at the A&Y Trail pedestrian crossing on Strawberry Road, helping improve safety for trail users crossing the road and for those using the adjacent parking areas.

These new lights will provide welcome illumination for pedestrians and cyclists while having minimal impact on our night sky. They’re designed to comply with the Town’s Dark Sky Ordinance, balancing safety with the preservation of our naturally dark skies. 💡🌙

🌳 What’s green, tall, and arrives on an 18-wheeler flatbed? Trees, of course! 🚛🌿

Truckloads of trees arrived at Bandera Farms Park last week as crews put the finishing touches on this exciting community space. These new additions will provide shade, enhance the park’s natural beauty, and make this special place even more inviting.

We can’t wait to see the trees in place and the park come to life! In the meantime, enjoy this sneak peek at some of the other exciting progress happening at Bandera Farms Park.🌳

Celebrate Great Trails State Day in Summerfield!

This Saturday, October 17, is Great Trails State Day! While we wait for the much-anticipated trails at Bandera to open next month, there are still plenty of great places to get outside and explore right here in Summerfield.

Join thousands of trail lovers across the state – and check out these three local spots to enjoy the outdoors on Great Trails State Day:

🌿 1. Explore the Community Park Trails
Enjoy a walk along the trails, then pack a picnic and relax in the picnic shelter!

🚶 2. Take the A&Y Pedestrian Tunnel and Stroll the A&Y Greenway
Use the pedestrian tunnel to safely cross under US 220 North and enjoy a walk along the greenway, which currently runs from the temporarily closed railroad trestle bridge to Summerfield Road.

🌼 3. Discover the Trail Behind the Paw Park
Take a walk along the mown walking path and visit the Peace Garden, created earlier this year as an Eagle Scout project.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful stroll, a little outdoor adventure, or a chance to enjoy nature with family and friends, Great Trails State Day is the perfect opportunity to explore Summerfield!
