📽️ 35mm Slide & Film Viewer – View those old slides and film memories tucked away in boxes.
📼 Cassette Recorder/Player – Listen to old cassette recordings or make recordings to help preserve family memories.
🎙️ Digital Voice Recorder – Record family stories, interviews, memories, and oral histories for generations to come.

📚 September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! 🎉

There’s no better time to discover everything your Sumner Public Library has to offer. And the best part? Library cards are FREE! ❤️

Residents of Sumner and rural Bremer County ages 6 and up can sign up for a library card at no cost.
Just bring:
✅ Proof of your current name and address
✅ Photo ID

A current phone number, email address, and photo are encouraged to help us communicate with you and properly identify your account.

👧 For children under 14: A parent or legal guardian must also sign the application and provide the required identification.

Live outside Sumner or rural Bremer County? No problem! The Sumner Public Library participates in the State of Iowa Open Access Program, which means Iowa residents may obtain limited library privileges by following the same application process.

📖 A few things to know:
• New cardholders begin with a three-month probationary period and may check out up to 5 items at a time (including no more than 1 DVD). Library of Things items are not available during probation.
• Borrowing privileges may be restricted for overdue items, late charges, damaged or lost materials, or other account issues.

We’re excited to show off the new carpet in our library’s Program Room! 📚 The updated space is looking fresh and welcoming, and we’re thrilled to have this project completed.

A big thank you to our patrons for your patience and understanding while we had a small amount of construction happening. We appreciate your flexibility as we worked to make improvements to the space.

📚❤️ A Heartfelt Thank You

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the for choosing our library to receive funding to support our collection and our community of readers.

We are also incredibly thankful to the Sumner Public Library Foundation for their generous additional sponsorship and for helping make this opportunity possible.

Through this wonderful support, we received 103 new books with a total value of $1,952.38! 📖🎉 These new additions will help us provide fresh stories, new ideas, and exciting reading opportunities for readers of all ages.

We are so grateful to the Pilcrow Foundation and the Sumner Public Library Foundation for investing in our library and recognizing the important role books and libraries play in our community.
