A little hands-on learning at the Sun Prairie Police Department!

Boy Scouts Troop 333 stopped by the department this week to check out some of our drones! With the help of Officer Beck and Officer Chitwood, the scouts got an up-close look at the technology our officers use to support their work in the community.

Thank you to Troop 333 for visiting us! We always enjoy opportunities to connect with our community and inspire the next generation. 🚔

SLOW DOWN. MOVE OVER. SAVE LIVES.

Our officers, Sun Prairie Fire & EMS, and Finish Line Towing are working together to remind our community about the importance of the Move Over Law.

First responders and roadside workers put themselves near traffic every day to help others. When you approach a stopped vehicle or emergency scene, slow down and move over when possible.

Giving these individuals extra space can help prevent serious injuries and save lives. A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference.

A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference. Let’s protect those who help protect us!

🚦 Red Means STOP! 🚦

This video shows two separate crashes involving drivers who failed to stop at red traffic signals. In both incidents, the drivers were cited for failing to obey traffic signals.

These crashes are an important reminder that running a red light can have serious consequences.

🛑 Slow down, pay attention, and obey traffic signals. Getting to your destination a few seconds sooner is never worth causing a crash or putting someone’s life at risk.

Drive safe, Sun Prairie! 🚔

Each week, the Sun Prairie Police Department will share a snapshot of the calls for service and incidents our officers responded to in the community. This blotter provides an overview of arrests, investigations, and other noteworthy activity, but it does not include every call we handle. Our officers respond to hundreds of service requests each week, ranging from emergencies to routine assistance, and this summary is meant to give the public a sense of the variety of situations we encounter. By sharing these updates, we hope to keep our community informed, highlight the work being done each day, and strengthen the partnership between our department and the residents we serve.

What a great day on the course! We had an amazing time bringing our community together on September 28th for our first annual golf outing in support of the Sun Prairie Police Department’s K9 Program and Community Policing Program.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who golfed, sponsored, volunteered, donated, and helped make this event possible. Your support means so much and helps us continue the work we do to serve our community.

Check out some of the highlights from our day!
We’re so grateful for the support and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this event!
