Enjoy an afternoon of playing fun board games at the library this Thursday 6/4 at 4 pm! We have lots of new games for you to try out!

The ninja is collecting stamps to celebrate Central Library’s anniversary! Visit your local library and pick up a set of historic card catalog cards as part of our celebration of Central 100. Every Los Angeles Public Library branch has a unique stamp for you to collect so that you can make your cards your own. Try to collect them all!

May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Andy, our Children’s Librarian, will be reviewing children’s books written by AAPI authors. You can order all these books at lapl.org.

Drop off your mail-in ballots at our Official Ballot Drop Box, located just outside the branch, until 8 pm on election day. There are also boxes at LAPL’s 72 other locations, if you are not near us. Find the closest one to you at https://www.lapl.org/branches

Do you want to learn how to use a sewing machine? You are in luck! L.A. Discovers Activity Kits are available to borrow from the Sun Valley Branch Library. Check out our Sewing and Clothing Repair Kit which includes a sewing machine, sewing accessories, and beginner sewing books for adults and kids. Call our branch to reserve the kit for yourself!

Stop by the branch this Thursday 5/28 at 4 pm for this fun craft! Celebrate the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States with us and create a patriotic windsock to display at home.

This weekend, the ninja is remembering those who gave their lives to defend our country, and is reminding everyone we’ll be closed on Monday, May 25th for the Memorial Day holiday.
