Today marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001. Today, we remember all of those who lost their lives on this day. We remember the 343 members of the FDNY, 23 officers of the NYPD, and 37 members of the Port Authority Police Department who were all killed. This day is a day that shaped the lives of many. A day where nothing was ever going to be the same.

We honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget.

Below is an article written by the Delaware Gazette about 3 of our members that were on ground zero helping with the search.

Three local firefighters were part of Ohio Task Force One 25 years ago and went to New York City to assist at ground zero after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Happy Fourth of July from Porter Kingston Fire District! 🇺🇸

On Wednesday, your Porter-Kingston firefighters were busy training on high angle rope rescue. This training allowed our newer members to get familiar and comfortable with our rope rescue equipment. Training like this is important because rope rescue is a low frequency, high risk operation with a lot of moving parts. Being able to have our members all on the same page is crucial to a successful rescue.
