The Old Bridge has a new home waiting. Let’s help get it there!

Our $200,000 fundraising challenge continues through January 15, 2027, and every contribution helps fund the move to a permanent home.

On October 15, 1954 Hurricane Hazel came ashore on our coast resulting in the loss of nine lives on OIB and extensive property damage up and down the coast. No lives were lost on Bald Beach (now Sunset Beach) but like all of the Brunswick islands, it was overwashed by the storm surge.

There’s more time to help move history! The $200,000 Donor Challenge for Old Bridge Historical Society has been extended until January 15, 2027.

The generosity of our community has helped move this effort forward. To everyone who donated, shared our story, or encouraged a neighbor to give, thank you. For those who haven’t yet, there’s a new opportunity to do so.

The extended challenge gives our community more time to help move the Old Bridge Museum to a permanent home and preserve this piece of Sunset Beach history for future generations.
