Spencer Pratt was here about a week ago. He came to inspire us to fight for Oregon. He knows first hand the consequences of failed leadership.

I’ve been following him since the Palisades fire and saw a rising star. He wasn’t afraid to call it like he saw it. He became the voice for his community when the fire destroyed it and then he ran for Mayor of LA.

Oregon is on the cusp of change, it’s right within our grasp, but we have to chase it and fight for it.

Two years ago, when I ran for chair of the Oregon Republican Party, this was my platform. Target the 120,000 voters who did not vote in the last election and ballot harvest. We have to meet people where they are, not wait for them to come around. Get out and connect with them. Many voters feel apathetic. Many voters feel like their vote and voice doesn’t matter.

Well I’m here to tell you, that is a lie! One voice has changed so much, if you can’t see it or believe, I’ve lived it.

I was able to encourage Spencer. I thanked him for all his hard work, for running for mayor, for exposing the corruption and for continue to carry on. I told him I’ve experienced loss too, at the hands of the government and something beyond me has compelled me to keep fighting back. I encouraged him to keep following The Holy Spirit. He just stared at me intently, with big blue eyes. He told me he was going to start to cry. I said, I can’t imagine how hard it is for you, with this great loss, but keep going.

And that’s what he encouraged us to do too! Keep fighting. Chase the votes, get the ballots, fight with every legal tool necessary because Oregon can be a beacon of hope on the West Coast. He told us, each one of us needs to get at least TEN voters to turn in their ballots. Call your friends, knock on your neighbors doors. We can not sit back and do nothing. Do something! Our entire state will burn to the ground if we don’t intervene, TODAY. And that’s true too. You can see the demise and despair all around this beautiful state.

I know Christine Drazan has a path to win, she’s targeting all the right things, but we have to help her. She can not get to the finish line in first place without our help. There’s just 14 days until Election Day and my friends have put together a movement to get out the vote. We need you to sign up for two short hours. Every one of you: Sign up for two short hours. Is Oregon worth it to you? It’s worth it to me, I’ve given the last 7 years…and I’ll push to keep giving more. I know he will too, but will you? We need your help…

Well, this is exciting!! It’s the FIRST TIME Sweet Home has had a direct election of our Mayor and I’m at the top of the ticket. I don’t know what the community will decide, but whatever it is, I couldn’t be more proud of this moment. Voters are in complete control of Sweet Home’s destiny and every two years, the Mayor must get approval by the voters to continue. 🇺🇸

A big THANK YOU to the community members who took it upon themselves to organize a grassroots candidate forum!

For the first time in 84 years, Sweet Home residents have the opportunity to directly elect their mayor. Yet, for some strange reason, nobody seemed interested in hosting a candidate forum.

So the people took matters into their own hands. They organized an event, invited the candidates, and gave our community something valuable: an opportunity for conversation.

Unfortunately, only four out of seven candidates showed up. Of the three candidates running for mayor, I was the only one in attendance. Showing up matters.

Regardless, I’m grateful to those who made the effort to bring candidates and voters together. This is what community involvement looks like, and it’s exactly what local government needs more of.

If you weren’t able to attend, you can watch the forum at the link below.

This is where I grew up in Sweet Home. It’s now the manager’s house inside Tamarack Ridge Estates, a trailer park on the other side of the tracks. For us, it was an upgrade when we moved here, because when I was even younger, we did live in a little single-wide trailer.

When we got here, my dad went back to work at Clear Lumber until he ultimately became the Sweet Home School District student counselor. My mom became a CNA. They worked incredibly hard to support their family and care for this community.

So this image means a lot to me. I’ve never forgotten where I’ve been, and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be here. Or become political, let alone run for office. To see my adult self standing in front of this home, with this sign, I don’t really know if I can fully put into words how it makes me feel.

To me, the office of Mayor is more than a seat warmer or maintaining the status quo. It’s about accountability to the people of this community. It’s about stewarding their money appropriately, communicating transparently and always keeping them at the forefront of my mind. And that is exactly what I will do as Mayor. Care for this community.

I won’t be seeking endorsements in this race and I won’t be going negative about my opponent. I do not want this community divided anymore than it already will be, but I will speak the truth and remind people of what I have seen over the last six years as a city councilor.

We can do better and there are quite a few things I would do differently if given the chance to represent you as Mayor. I know change is not always welcomed by everyone, and I know there will be criticism, there always is…but ultimately, the fact that I’m standing here with my name on the ballot in this election, represents one of the biggest changes I helped accomplish for this community. And it feels good!

I am so honored to have helped give Sweet Home residents their voice back. And whatever the community decides, I’m grateful that this time, they finally get to make that choice for themselves.

Thank you to everyone who has offered to put up a sign. In 24 hrs we’ve already gone through half of the inventory and I won’t be ordering any more. If you want a sign, get one now before they are gone. I can’t do this without your vote and your help! ❤️

Many of you have asked me to run for Mayor of Sweet Home, especially after I pushed for the charter change that finally allows us to directly elect our Mayor. It’s been nearly 100 years since our community had a voice and Sweet Home is ready for change!

I had overwhelming support in Sweet Home during my State Representative race, but a lot of you also told me you wanted to keep me home. I get it. We know that some of the most important work we can do is locally and YOU KNOW I will continue doing the best I can for this community. ❤️

So…starting today, our signs are going up and I would love your support. I can not do this alone. If you are willing to host a “Sanchez for Mayor” sign, send me a direct message. As long as I have a voice, I will keep speaking on our behalf for more affordability, better roads, safer streets and accountability to the people!!
