REPRESENTATIVES NEEDED. Lincoln County is currently unrepresented regarding senior matters in our state of Kansas. Two positions are open that could remedy this situation.
The North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging meets with an 18-county board to determine priorities for senior citizens of North Central Kansas. This board meets five times each year, often in Junction City. They discuss in committees and make recommendations for the betterment of seniors’ lives in our District 8 and throughout the state. Lincoln County is currently without representation on this board and has been so for several years.
The county is also without a representative to the Silver Haired Legislature. This group meets three times each year, in Topeka and elsewhere within the state.
If you are interested in serving either on the 18-county North Central Kansas board or as a Silver Haired Legislator, or to find out more about these positions, please contact North Central-Flint Hills Area on Aging, Inc. at 785-776-9294 or you may call 800-432-2703.
