Still earlier than when Republicans sent term limits to the ballot in 2025. Thank you Majority Leader Nodesia Hernandez.

"We also don’t buy the argument from Republicans that there isn’t enough time to debate the proposals before a November referendum. Legislative term limits were enacted last August and voted upon in November. These proposals have a two-month head start on that one.
Finally, holding a referendum is direct democracy in action. Let the voters decide whether these are good ideas — or not."

We can get behind term limit for county executive, change to filling legislative vacancies and independent redistricting. But why isn't comptroller term-limited, too?

Syracuse, NY was one of the last stops on Nell Richardson and Alice Burke's cross-country tour to advocate for women's rights and suffrage.
Today, Majority Leader Nodesia Hernandez, Legislator Elaine Denton and Chairwoman Nicole Watts, participated in a rally hosted by the CNY Chapter of the National Organization of Women (NOW) to continue advocating for the adoption of the Equal Rights Amendment.
The fight for equality didn’t end with history — it continues with us. The Onondaga County Legislature will honor the courage of those who came before us by raising our voices, showing up, and pushing forward until equal rights are guaranteed for all.
