Our reason why ๐
Our mission never would have come to life without the inspiration behind it all: Jonathan.
Itโs time! Our favorite part of September is introducing you to our incredible Honored Kids. It is their stories that make the ride what it is. Stories of hope. Stories of strength. Stories of courage. Stories of remembrance. Stories that remind us ๐
First up, the name behind it all.
Meet Jonathan! Jonathan was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia at just six months old. His older brother, Matthew, courageously donated bone marrow to Jonathan, but after a 15 month battle Jonathan gained his wings. Jonathan was treated in NJ, where his family was taken care of by two wonderful organizations dedicated to pediatric cancer families. When his grandma, Pat, returned to CNY she realized the need for such an organization right here in our community. Pat founded the Jonathan Cancer Fund, Inc. in 1993. We continue to work in loving memory of Jonathan and his wonderful, incredible grandma, Pat. Each year, the ride benefits the JCF to ensure that it can continue to provide financial support to newly diagnosed families in our community.
Make sure you check back every morning in September to meet each of our incredible Honored Kids ๐
