Today the Onondaga Community College Campus Police Department took part in the Village of Phoenix Police Department’s Annual Shop with a Hero event today at Fulton Walmart. 🎄🛍️

Officers Healey and Gonzalez proudly represented OCC while serving as “Heroes” for local children during an unforgettable holiday shopping experience. 👮‍♂️👮‍♂️🎁

This incredible event paired 65 children with local Heroes for a morning filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful connections. 👧👦✨

The kids enjoyed donuts and treats from Byrne Dairy 🍩☕ and lunch from Chick-fil-A in Cicero 🍗🥤. They even got to visit with Santa 🎅 and the Grinch made an appearance too, but he didn’t steal any of the Christmas joy. 🤣🎄

Events like this remind us why community partnerships matter. They build trust, strengthen connections, and bring real joy to the families we serve. ❤️

Today, Dr. Hilton swore in our newest member — Benjamin Li! 👏

Benjamin joins us from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Department and will soon begin his next chapter at the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office Academy. 🎓 Over the next six months, he’ll undergo intensive training in:

✅ Criminal law & procedure
✅ Emergency response & de-escalation
✅ Defensive tactics & fi****ms proficiency
✅ Crisis intervention & mental health awareness
✅ Community policing & professional ethics

The academy experience will prepare him to protect and serve our Lazer community with professionalism, compassion, and integrity. 💪⚡
