Syracuse mayor urged to restore independent police misconduct probes Two advocates voiced their concerns publicly during a recent meet-and-greet with the mayor and police chief.
The CRB monthly public board meeting is cancelled for the month of May.

CRB attended the 100 Black Men of Syracuse 2026 Renaissance Gala. We were honored to be in the room with so many amazing community members and organizations.
It was a night filled of community, connection, and support! Our staff and members of the board want to extend a special thank you to the for putting on a great event and the work they do for our community.

CRB attended the District 16 Community Resource Fair at the Dunbar Center where we were able to connect with the community and give them information on their rights and how we are here for them if they ever need us!

We want to give a special thank you to Chief Mark Rusin and Deputy Chief Jason Tom for coordinating with us to make this Syracuse Police Department training for our CRB staff and board possible.
It was a day for us at CRB to get a first hand look into the department’s policy, procedures, having open dialogue, and creating understanding.
Special thank you to Mayor Owens for stopping in, having conversation with us, and appreciating the work we do at CRB.
It was truly a great day!
