Christmas planning season is here, and we kicked it off with a very special moment!

Last week, Jeremy Thurston surprised his dad, Gary, with a special presentation announcing a major gift from the Thurston family. The annual Christmas Bureau will now be the Gary V. Thurston Christmas Bureau, and our main campus at 677 S. Salina will become the Gary V. and Mary L. Thurston Administration and Program Center.

Gary and the late Mary Thurston have supported The Salvation Army since 1993, and this gift will help us expand critical shelter and care services across Onondaga County.

Thank you, Thurston family, for more than 30 years of believing in this work and this community!
