Our friend (and IVLP alum) Jay Poudyal (Stories of Nepal) is raising money to assist communities in Nepal - you can read his story below:
We are raising funds for communities across Nepal affected by the second wave of COVID-19.

In 2020 Stories of Nepal and our international community came together and raised $40,000 for marginalised communities across Nepal. Together, we supported thousands of people in dozens of communities with foods parcels, hygiene kits, monthly support packages, and financial aid.
While we hoped that we would see the beginning of the end of the pandemic by now, quite the opposite is happening. Nepal is gripped in the midst of a deadly and disastrous second wave and we are calling on our community to once again step up and support those in dire need.
Over the last week, after returning home from the hospital I have been in daily contact with our partner community leaders and together we have decided that it is time to call to action our international supporters to deliver vital resources as soon as possible.
Funds will be used to create and distribute foods parcels, hygiene kits, monthly support packages, and financial aid packages. This second wave of Covid-19 is leaving rural and marginalised communities without tests and even more alarmingly, without oxygen. We are exploring how we can facilitate the delivery of oxygen as a matter of urgency. Full details are on the donation page.
We will be in constant communication with our partner communities and you, our donors and Stories of Nepal Community. We will be updating you daily and in full detail, sharing the real stories behind the headline hitting statistics.
100% of the funds will be heading directly to rural and marginalised communities in Nepal impacted most by the second wave of Covid-19.
Please read our story, share widely, and give generously.

Calling all multilingual individuals looking for a volunteer opportunity! The International Institute of Buffalo has recently created a Multilingual Ambassador Program and is looking for potential candidates to help us with our mission.
Your role as an ambassador would be to assist with small, but necessary interactions (ex: appointment reminders, safety videos) on a part-time basis to help our clients adjust to life in America. The program will provide valuable professional experience to hone your language skills for potential professional use in your career, as well as connect with the foreign-born community in Buffalo.
Volunteers are expected to have an advanced knowledge of the language, but fluency is NOT required. For more information about the program, please go to https://iibuffalo.org/volunteer/ and click "Multilingual Ambassador Program". If you're interested in participating, please fill out this Google Form here: https://forms.gle/PhfzZ7CaLVd92Wd56
