Over a few separate shifts this past week our crews have been hard at work on our annual fire hose testing as the sun comes up.

Each year, TCFT staff test thousands of feet of hose to make sure it’s ready when we need it. By taking care of the testing in-house instead of bringing in an outside company, we’re able to save taxpayer dollars with this process.

It’s a lot of work, but just another way our men and women try to make the most of the resources we have.

It’s been a busy few weeks at TCFT and October doesn’t look much different. We’re always appreciative to be out in the community and supporting the Syracuse-Wawasee area. Here’s a little snippet of life this past week.

This week, FF/Paramedic Tyler Schmucker completed an intensive week of Honor Guard training at the Goshen Police Department Honor Guard Camp.

Honor Guards represent all disciplines of public service at some of its most important moments — honoring those who have served, paying respects to those we lose, and representing their departments and communities with professionalism and pride.

A full week of this intricate training takes a lot of focus, discipline, and attention to detail. We’re proud to have one of our own put in the work and bring that support back to our county. Congrats Tyler!

Chiefs Hunter and Likens decided to get into the Wawasee HOCO week spirit and take part in Twin Day. This comes with the added bonus of embarrassing their high schoolers when they see this, an opportunity they simply couldn’t pass up!

We’ll see everyone under the lights Friday night. Go Warriors. Beat Goshen!

TCFT joined forces with TTFT and Burket Fire this morning for our first crack at the Hometown Heroes Softball Tournament hosted by Project Ebenezer.

We came up a little short of bringing home the hardware, but we also had a great time getting out there with everyone and enjoying the day.

Granted, a few of our veteran players are probably going to need some Aleve, a nap, possibly MRI’s, and a couple days before they’re walking normally again. 😂

Thanks to everyone who put on a great event today!

Ayyyyyy this is a great reason to make a little noise in town on a Thursday night!

We had the privilege of escorting the Wawasee Girls Golf team back to the high school tonight after they took care of business at Stonehenge in Warsaw and brought home an IHSAA SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Congratulations girls, way to represent and bring that title home to the trophy case!
