This two-mile long scenic waterfront park has panoramic views of Commencement Bay and is a great place for walking, jogging, rollerblading and fishing. Ruston Way Waterfront is owned and maintained by Metro Parks Tacoma and the City of Tacoma. Ruston Way Waterfront is a facility of Metro Parks Tacoma. Enjoy music, fireworks, and fun at Tacoma’s 4th of July Summer Blast! This annual event takes place at Dune Peninsula and Cummings Parks along the iconic Ruston Way Waterfront and features 2 distinct event footprints, over 150 vendors, live music, and a 20-minute fireworks spectacular over Commencement Bay.

Come on out and join us at this free event on Saturday, July 4th from 12-10:30 PM.

Spring is in the air and it’s time to start thinking about flowers! The Point Defiance Flower & Garden Festival is June 6 –7. The festival features activities for adults and kids with workshops, garden tours, food trucks, art and garden vendors, keynote speakers, w**e tasting, and so much more!

Admission to the festival is FREE but some workshops, garden tours and nature walks require registration. Space is limited. Register at www.parkstacoma.gov/ptdflowergardenfest
