Zombie Pub Crawl is tonight, and the ride is already handled.

NTCA invested $92,840 in TBID funds in the Tahoe City Events Park and Ride Pilot, which puts free shuttles on the road for Tahoe City’s biggest event nights. Tonight they run 4 PM to midnight — late enough that nobody has a reason to drive.

Park free at Palisades Tahoe and catch the Olympic Valley shuttle, with stops at Everline, River Ranch, and TART Olympic Valley. Coming from the west side? The West Shore shuttle serves Granlibakken, Sunnyside, Homewood, and Tahoma. Free on-demand TART Connect is running too.

Costume on, keys at home 🧟

NTCA's Fiscal Year 2025-26 Annual Report is here.

The report details the efforts that have been advanced as a result of the TBID's renewal and shows how those dollars are being reinvested in the community — across workforce housing, transportation, environmental stewardship, and support for local businesses.

It also looks forward — at how NTCA is staying responsive to changing conditions and emerging challenges, and how community voices are being used to inform decision-making processes.

Print copies are available at the Visitor Information Centers in Tahoe City and Kings Beach, or read it online: https://www.northtahoecommunityalliance.com/who-we-are/annual-report/

📍 The NTCA recently led a coordinated advocacy effort in support of Placer County's application to have the Kings Beach District designated as a federal Opportunity Zone—a valuable tool for attracting long-term private investment to the community by offering federal tax incentives. In total, 18 support letters were generated by local nonprofit organizations and business owners, community members, and elected officials. Although an Opportunity Zone designation does not guarantee investment, it could help incentivize catalyst projects that strengthen the business district, create jobs, improve commercial properties, and support broader community priorities.

Tahoe Business Walks are back! 💼🌲

From October 19–23, TPC and partners from across the region are hitting the streets to hear directly from Tahoe businesses about what’s working, what’s challenging, and what they need to thrive.

In 2024, nearly 500 businesses participated—and this year, we want to hear from even more.

Your input helps turn local business experiences into lake-wide data and lake-wide solutions.

Last month, the Tahoe Summit celebrated its 30th anniversary and offered another opportunity to connect with elected officials who represent our communities and advocate for the protection of Lake Tahoe. It also allowed for conversations about local priorities and how our business community has established and expanded opportunities for public-private partnership. This type of in-person access to decision-makers is invaluable as our efforts to advance projects, programs, and initiatives that benefit our community continue. They also give us an opportunity to humanize their impact, reinforcing the critical need for this type of advocacy work.

What does stewardship look like on the ground in North Tahoe?

During summertime in North Tahoe, Stewardship Ambassadors are out on popular beaches and trailheads having real conversations with visitors about fire safety, wildlife, and Leave No Trace. The BEBOT beach cleaning robot works the sand, bike valet services take pressure off the parking lots, and the Blue Beach program keeps the shoreline in better shape. Park and Ride and TART Connect mean arriving doesn't mean circling for a spot, and trash and human impact mitigation continues at our incredible beaches.

It's a collective effort, with NTCA working alongside community partners like Placer County, US Forest Service, CA State Parks, California Tahoe Conservancy, Destination Stewardship Council, North Tahoe Public Utilities District, Tahoe City public Utilities District and others to make a difference where it matters most.

None of it is finished, and next season's work is already underway 🤙
