CCAN Action Fund CCAN Action fund works to effect change in public policy at local, state and national levels to dire

The mission of the CCAN Action Fund is to effect change in public policy at local, state and national levels to directly address the threat of global warming. Through voter education, lobbying and participation in the electoral process, we seek to move our country into a leadership position on the most urgent global issue of our time — the climate crisis. Together with our sister organization, the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN), we focus most of our efforts in the Chesapeake Bay states of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. We believe positive solutions exist and must be embraced now to preserve our planet for future generations

We hosted an SRM Research Hub Crawl during to explore what responsible research into solar reflective methods could look like and who should help shape it.

Our position is clear: Research is not deployment. CCAN does not support deploying SRM, and nothing replaces cutting carbon pollution. But the public deserves answers about the risks, the science, and the safeguards.

Tonight!

Come out to the Board of Supervisors hearing to help stop Dominion from destroying more rural land for their data center grid. Make a public comment to remind the Supervisors that they work for us, NOT Dominion! Folks from other counties can make comments, as well. Wear yellow - we'll see you at 5:30

Yesterday, Danville residents and advocates rallied downtown to demand an immediate statewide moratorium on new data center approvals. With drought conditions straining Danville, Virginia needs to PAUSE before more energy- and water-intensive data centers move forward.

The Danville march is part of a two-week wave of action across Virginia. Join us for our last couple of stops this week. Learn more: https://ccanactionfund.org/danville-residents-marched-for-a-moratorium-on-new-virginia-data-centers/
