On October 23, the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office hosted its annual Cancer Awareness Walk at the GCSO facilities in Quincy, Florida. DISC Village Gadsden Outpatient team members Wanda (left) and Adrian (not pictured), along with Criminal Justice Deflection team members Tracey (left center) and Evelyn (right), joined Brianna from Boys Town (right center) for the event.

The DISC Village team shared information about the agency's prevention, treatment, and recovery services while distributing harm reduction supplies, including Naloxone (Narcan) and Deterra, to promote community safety and help address the opioid epidemic.

Your time can build a bed. Your donation can help provide one. On November 14, volunteers will come together with DISC Village and Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build beds for children in our community who do not have beds of their own.

On Wednesday, October 21, DISC Village team members Lisa, Community Outreach Coordinator (center), Wanda, Case Manager (left), and Adrian, Supervisor (right), attended the 2026 FAMU Homecoming Beauty and Wellness Expo.

This annual event brings together hundreds of students to explore women’s health, wellness resources, and local services. The DISC Village team connected with attendees to share information about available programs and services while distributing harm reduction supplies, including Naloxone (Narcan), fentanyl test strips, DisposeRx, condoms, and promotional items.

Prevention conversations can go beyond telling teens to avoid alcohol and drugs. Ask why they think teens use substances, how they might handle pressure, and what could help them leave an uncomfortable situation.

These conversations help teens think through real situations, recognize risks, practice making decisions, and know they can come to a trusted adult when they need help.

DISC Village is partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace for a community bed build, and we need your help! Join us on Saturday, November 14th, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM as we come together to make a difference in the lives of local children.

Whether you're helping build beds or volunteering for bed deliveries, your time and effort can help provide comfort, security, and a safe place to sleep for children in need. Together, we can build more than just beds, we can build brighter futures, one bed at a time!
