Consolidated Dispatch Agency

Good afternoon, Tallahassee-Leon County!

Last night, we had the pleasure of welcoming Florida State University's Lambda Alpha Epsilon group to the CDA for a little behind-the-scenes look at the world of Emergency Communications!

Director David Odom spent time with these aspiring public safety professionals, sharing insight into the work we do, the people who make it possible, and a little career advice from someone who's been around the public safety block a time or two.

There's something particularly rewarding about spending time with young people who are considering careers in public service. Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn are encouraging reminders that the future of public safety is shaped long before someone puts on a uniform or answers their first call.

To our friends from FSU, thank you for spending some of your time with us! We hope you left with a better understanding of Emergency Communications, a little wisdom for the road ahead, and perhaps a new appreciation for the people working behind the scenes.

Whatever path you choose in public safety, never underestimate the difference you can make in someone's life. That's what this work is really about.

Good afternoon, Tallahassee–Leon County!

Have you ever thought about what a consolidated dispatch agency means for our community?

You don’t have to know who needs to come. You just have to call.

At your CDA, someone is listening when fear makes words difficult; asking questions, guiding your next step, and helping you hold on while colleagues coordinate the response.

You may hear one voice. Behind it, people are drawing on one another’s knowledge, catching details, and making decisions others will depend on.

Bringing Emergency Communications together makes this possible. The CDA Family...the Public Safety Communications Operators/ Emergency Communications Professionals make it work. Their judgment, their trust in one another, and their care for you give consolidation its meaning.

Behind every call to 9-1-1 is a human being. Behind every answer is another, bringing skill and compassion to a moment that may change someone’s life.

They may never learn how your story unfolds. You may never know their name. But something they helped you do...the next breath, the next instruction, the next moment...becomes part of your story.

Before help arrives at your side, they are already helping.

The Tallahassee–Leon County Consolidated Dispatch Agency has an address, but its work has always lived in its people. Since 2013, they have brought their knowledge, judgment, and compassion to every shift. Everything our community counts on this Agency to provide takes shape in the work they do.

Tallahassee- Leon County, thank you for recognizing the people behind the calls. Your support means more than you may ever know.

To the CDA Emergency Communications Professionals: THANK YOU for the details you catch, the judgment you bring, and the way you look out for one another while looking after everyone else. We know how much you give beyond what anyone hears on a call. YOU ARE SEEN, YOU ARE VALUED, AND YOU ARE APPRECIATED.
