Do you have a teen aged 14–18 who has a favorite place to hang out outside of home and school? 📱☕🛹
Our FSU interior design research team is conducting a study on youth "Third Spaces" - the public or community places young people choose to gather, relax, and connect. We want to understand what design elements, layouts, and atmospheres make teens feel welcome and comfortable so we can help design better community spaces for them.
Study Details:
• Target Audience: Teens aged 14–18 (Must have parent consent to participate!)
• Topic: Teen "Third Spaces" and hangout environment design
• Goal: Inform future interior design projects for youth-friendly spaces

☕Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Florida High! ☕

We’re celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic community with a special Café con Leche gathering!

Moments like these remind us that our community is a strength and that sharing our cultures, stories, and traditions helps build meaningful connections across our campus environment.

At FSUS, we celebrate the people and perspectives that make our school community special. Here’s to honoring heritage, building relationships, and learning from one another—one cup of café con leche at a time! ☕✨

Every Student. Every Day. ❤️💛

🚀 The next generation of business leaders has arrived! 🚀

We kicked off our first annual SHARK TANK: Student AP Business Idea Pitches! 💼🦈

Our incredible AP Business students brought their A-game, transforming complex business concepts into creative, real-world solutions. From innovative tech to sustainable services, the pitches were inspiring! ✨

It was a thrilling display of teamwork, critical thinking, and sheer entrepreneurial spirit! A huge thank you to our guest judges for their valuable feedback and tough questions. 🤔👏

Yesterday our students participated in lively debates over everyday math policies on calculators and grades. It turns out math isn't just about solving for x - it's about learning how to weigh evidence, defend a point of view, and prepare a respectful rebuttal! A panel of judges announced debate winners, but we are most proud of how ALL our students showed critical thinking!

🧠 Outstanding job by our high school learners and algebra teacher, Ms. Jones. Way to show dynamic learning in action!

On October 1, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students had the exciting opportunity to meet award-winning author James Ponti!

During his visit, Mr. Ponti shared insights into the writing process, his inspirations, life as an author, and the scoop on his new books. His words sparked creativity and excitement in our young readers and writers—and the inspiration didn’t stop when the visit ended! Since his visit, several students have already written their own books and proudly shared them with their teachers and our school librarian. Who knows? We may have some future award-winning authors in the making!

A huge thank-you to Mr. Ponti for inspiring our students to dream big, read more, and tell their own stories!

🧹 Is there room on the broom? Not if it snaps! 💥

Our brand-new Junior Engineers Club officially kicked off their very first session with a big challenge: build the tallest, most stable tower that could hold a squishy friend at the top for a full 10 seconds! 🗼✨

Taking a page from the story *Room on the Broom*, our mini-engineers learned what happens when weight-bearing designs aren't quite sturdy enough (RIP to that original broomstick 🧹😅).

Through plenty of trial, error, and teamwork, our builders discovered that flat index cards just weren't cutting it. The secret to success? Structural geometry! Cylinders and triangular prisms proved to be the ultimate stability heroes of the day. 🔺📐

We can’t wait to see what amazing structures these clever minds engineer next month! 🛠️💡

To culminate their week of learning about figurative language, 3rd grade teachers and students celebrated Idiom Day. These smarty pants put on their thinking caps and came up with creative ways to display their knowledge. How many of these commonly used idioms can you identify?
