He calls our healthcare plans “gold-plated,” saying Floridians don’t need “full-blown” health insurance, while taxpayers subsidize his all-inclusive government healthcare and pay more so his rich donors can pay less.

This report confirms what we already knew: Byron Donalds isn’t running for governor to fix the crises he and his own party have created. He’s running to protect a business model that has made his family rich off of taxpayer money.

This is about more than one investigation or one news story. It’s about a pattern of corruption and a complete lack of accountability. Taxpayer dollars should be used to serve the public, not to line the pockets of the wealthy and well-connected.

It’s clear that Byron Donalds sees the governor's mansion as nothing more than another opportunity to advance his own political ambitions and pad his bottom line at the expense of the very people he's running to serve.

Inflation is rising, and higher fuel prices, due to the war in Iran are driving up the cost of everyday life. Families feel it at the pump, in the checkout line, and in bills that keep climbing while their paychecks struggle to keep up. Now, with the holidays coming up, they're feeling it in the cost of gifts, travel, and holiday shopping too.

Byron Donalds voted twice to continue the war in Iran, then was too busy campaigning to show up for a third vote. While he put his political ambitions ahead of the taxpayer-funded job he was elected to do, hardworking Floridians across the state showed up, put in their hours at work, and earned their paychecks only to watch inflation make every dollar buy less.

Floridians deserve better, and they deserve to know who is responsible.
