...
Leon County's Fort Braden Community Center is housed in the historic Old Fort Braden School?

The original 4 classroom school was constructed in 1926, and in 1996 Leon County renovated and restored the old building, reopening it as the Fort Braden Community Center and preserving the site’s educational legacy while providing a venue for community events.

In 2026, this building celebrates 100 years of serving this community as a centerpiece for growth, learning, and celebration.

You're invited to join us as we honor the legacy of this historic space at From Learning to Living: Celebrating 100 Years of Fort Braden's Community Center and School.

📅Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
📍Fort Braden Community Center, 16387 Blountstown Hwy.

Due to the anticipated impacts of Tropical Storm Isaias, this weekend’s Pre-State Cross Country Meet at Apalachee Regional Park has been canceled.

Tropical Depression #9 strengthened into Tropical Storm Isaias early Wednesday and is forecast to continue strengthen as it approaches the Gulf Coast. The safety of our athletes, coaches, spectators, volunteers and staff is our top priority.

For teams and families in the Tallahassee area, we encourage you to continue monitoring official weather and emergency updates as conditions develop.

We know how much preparation goes into a meet like this and appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety of everyone involved.
