Leadership is about stewardship; honoring the people who have carried the work, making space for new voices, and never losing sight of the people we are here to serve.
Last night marked a meaningful transition for Big Bend Cares as we closed one chapter of board leadership and began another.
We said a heartfelt thank you to Timothy Sneed, who completed two years of service as our Client Representative on the Board of Directors. Timothy brought something to the boardroom that no report or dashboard ever could: his lived experience and his voice. During one of the most challenging periods our community faced with the ADAP crisis, Timothy was a staunch advocate for our clients; sharing his own experience, asking important questions, and reminding us of the real people behind every decision we make. We are deeply grateful for his service, courage, and advocacy.
We also had the opportunity to recognize Amy Thorn as she passed the gavel to our incoming Board President, Kyle Frost. Amy’s leadership, support, and steady presence throughout this past year have meant more than we can adequately express. It has been a year of tremendous change, and we are incredibly grateful for the leadership of Amy and our entire Board of Directors as we have navigated it together.
As we begin this next chapter, we are excited to welcome our new Executive Committee: Kyle Frost, President; Josh DeSha, Vice President; Nate Myers, Treasurer; Dionte Gavin, Secretary; and Amy Thorn, Immediate Past President.
To every member of our Board; thank you for giving your time, expertise, perspective, and heart to this organization and the communities we serve.
Here’s to honoring where we’ve been, embracing where we’re going, and continuing this work together. ❤️
