A little something sweet for World Polio Day! 🍩

Director David O’Neal stopped by dispatch with donuts today to help recognize World Polio Day and raise awareness for the fight to end Polio worldwide.

Thanks for thinking of us and making our day a little sweeter! 😊

A huge thank you to Steve Bosso and Jen Ciaccia for spending the last 3 days at SECC teaching the FEMA Public Information Officer (PIO) Basic course. We appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience with everyone!

There were members from agencies across the region in attendance, including SECC, Summit County Public Health, Summit County EMA, Summit County Executives Office, Akron Dispatch, Hudson Fire, Norton Fire, Mogadore Police, Peninsula Police, Cuyahoga Falls Fire, Akron Zoo employees, and members from agencies in Mahoning County, just to name a few!

We also want to extend our thanks to Joseph St. John with Summit County EMA for coordinating and bringing this training opportunity to our area, and to 330ToGO for joining us to share valuable insight into the media’s role and its relationship with PIOs.

Trainings like this bring agencies together, strengthen partnerships, and help us better serve our communities. Thank you to everyone who helped make this training a success!

🍂 SECC got a little fall facelift! 🍂

Dispatcher Jamie McShane took the time to redecorate our planters and porch, bringing some autumn spirit to our building and making it feel extra welcoming this season.

We appreciate the little things our team members do to make SECC feel like home. Thank you, Jamie, for taking the time to add some seasonal charm to our center! 🧡
