🚲 Help Our Young Riders Shine Bright! 🛵

We love seeing so many of our kids out and about, staying active, and riding their bikes and scooters to school!

With the seasonal shift bringing shorter daylight hours, many students are now riding before sunrise or around dusk. To keep our streets safe for everyone, we need a quick favor from parents: please check that your child’s bike or scooter is equipped with a working headlight and taillight.

While Ohio law requires front and rear lights when riding between sunset and sunrise (ORC 4511.56), our main goal is simply keeping our kids safe. A bright light makes a world of difference in helping drivers spot young riders from a distance.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our neighborhood kids safe, visible, and rolling smoothly! A huge shout out to Kaitlyn, BK, Jackson, and AJ for showing off their scooter and bike lights for us!

Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
Saturday, October 24, 2026
10 AM-2 PM

Please take unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs to the Police Department at 53 Northeast Avenue. Be sure to keep medicines in their containers and mark out any identifying information. Please note that the take-back is only for pills, capsules, or liquids; syringes cannot be accepted. For syringe disposal, call 330.926.5600.

As we head into fall, here is a friendly reminder to make sure you know the rules for operating a golf cart in Tallmadge.

Before taking one out on city streets or into public areas, take a moment to make sure it meets the requirements for legal operation.

The City has helpful information available at tallmadgeoh.gov/golfcartlaws, including an FAQ with answers to common questions about golf cart laws, where they can be operated, and what is required.

A quick review of the rules can help keep everyone safe. Thank you for doing your part to help keep Tallmadge a safe community!

This guy was found over by Fairwood today. Summit County Animal Control came to care for him until his owner is found. They can be reached at 330-643-2845. Let's help him get home to celebrate Labor Day!

We love our partnership with Tallmadge City Schools. To support SRO Dornack and SRO Quillen in their work with students, we took two of our previously unmarked cars and gave them a major upgrade.

These cruisers are now fully marked and feature custom school graphics. SRO Dornack and SRO Quillen will be out and about in these vehicles during their details, keeping our schools safe, maintaining a visible presence, and representing the Blue Devils.
