The Meskwaki Public Works Department is saddened by the passing of our former Public Works Director, whose dedication, leadership, and service to the Meskwaki community spanned more than 25 years.

Throughout his career, he played a vital role in the growth and development of the Settlement. His vision and commitment helped bring many important projects to life, including the roads in the north section of the Settlement, the Meskwaki School, the paving of 305th Street to the Tribal Center, and the community walking trail. These lasting improvements continue to serve our people and stand as a reflection of his hard work and dedication.

Beyond the projects and accomplishments, he will be remembered as a respected leader, mentor, and advocate for the community. His impact can be seen throughout the Settlement, but more importantly, it will be felt through the lives he touched and the foundation he helped build for future generations.

On behalf of the Meskwaki Public Works Department, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, former colleagues, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him. We honor his years of service, celebrate his many contributions, and remain grateful for the lasting legacy he leaves behind.

Rest in peace Curtis, and thank you for your dedication to the Meskwaki Public Works Department.
