Tama Ambulance Service Tama Ambulance is a combination paid/volunteer ambulance service funded by the City of Tama. Our members include drivers, EMT’s, AEMT’s and Paramedics.

We strive to provide the best care for you or your loved one should the need arise. Thanks for visiting our page! This page is geared towards community outreach in the Tama area through social media. The Tama Ambulance service is a volunteer organization that has about thirty volunteers and one full time paramedic/administrator that make the service possible. Tama Ambulance service is a Basic and Advanced Life Support transport service funded by the city of Tama, we have EMT's, AEMT's, Paramedic's, and Driver's on our service. We answer about 700 calls yearly. We strive to provide you with the best medical care we can in an emergency situation. We are a dedicated service for Tama and surrounding areas.

Tama EMS would like to recognize our responders who assisted during a critical incident involving a semi-truck fire at the Meskwaki Travel Plaza on May 18, 2026.

We are honored to have received a Letter of Appreciation from the Meskwaki Nation Police Department recognizing our team’s assistance during this incident.

We sincerely appreciate this recognition and are proud of the teamwork, professionalism, and dedication our responders demonstrate when serving our communities. Emergencies require agencies to work together, support one another, and put the safety of others first.

🤝 Building strong relationships with our area responders makes our communities stronger and safer. We value our partnerships with the Meskwaki Nation Police Department and all surrounding public safety agencies. Officer-Involved Injury Training

Last night, Tama Ambulance, in partnership with Toledo Fire & Rescue, Tama Police Department, and Toledo Police Department, conducted specialized training focused on officer-involved injuries and emergency response.

During the training, officers provided valuable education on their duty equipment, including how to safely remove it during an emergency, as well as an overview of preserving and protecting evidence at an incident scene.

We also reviewed bleeding control, injury management, and emergency response techniques designed to help provide the best possible care when seconds matter.

While we never want anyone to become injured, being prepared to respond effectively when an injury occurs is essential. We are grateful for the opportunity to train alongside our local law enforcement and public-safety partners and appreciate their commitment to preparedness, teamwork, and the safety of our communities.
